Usage of "yubiDia"

In case of newest version

Brief outlook of "yubiDia"

Following map is view transition of "yubiDia". Users will start from Root view at the left side, and moving to each view at the right side, input relating data such as classification, station, train infomations or timetable. Light gray boxes in the right side are views for inputting various data. User can see diagram with selecting item for "View Diagram" in Home View.

Create new file and open existing file

You will see Root view when application is launched. The files shown in "Files" section is orderd by modification date (the first row is the newest). Here you can move into following four views.

  • Tap the area of "Untitled" at the "New..." cell in "Menu" section, and input filename (no extension is needed), then tap disclosure indicator of the cell, to go to home view(fig.4). To edit and update existing file, simply tap a cell in "File" section, also to go to home view(fig.4).
  • To download data, tap "Download" cell in "Menu" sectiion.
  • Tap disclosure button at right side of each cell in "File" section, you can manage each file, for example upload file, rename/duplicate file.
  • Tap "i" button, you can see "About" view.

Tap "Edit" button on navigation bar, "File" section will change to edit mode, then you can delete files.

File Management - upload, duplicate/rename, and convert

In file management view, users can select following 3 options.

  • "Upload". Upload file to Google Docs. Google Apps for Business account necessary.
  • "Duplicate/Reneme".
  • "Convert" Convert OuDia(extension is oud)/WinDIA(extension is dia) file to "yubiDia" default format(extension is sqlite). An original file will be deleted after conversion completes.

OuDiaFile can have maltiple dia data (for example weekday and holiday), and yubiDia can only convert the first one.

Edit and update data

In Home view, tap cell for Classification, Station, Down Train, Up Train, or Info, you will move into each view to edit and update relating data. Tap View Diagram, then you will see diagram view(fig.5).

In Classification, Station, Down Train and Up Train view, you can tap "Add" or "Edit"button in navigation bar, you can delete, move or add data in the view.

  • In Classification view, following 5 attributes can be input.
    ・Long Name (Express, Rapid Service, Local, and so on)
    ・Short Name (Exp, RS, Loc, and so on. Up to 3 characters)
    ・Line Color (select value red, green, blue and alpha each)
    ・Line Style (solid, dashed, dotted and dash-and-dotted)
    ・Line Thickness (thin, thick)
  • In Station view, folowing 3 attributes can be input.
    ・Name (N.Y.Central, Paris Noir, Beijing West, and so on)
    ・State (2=major station or junction, 1=station, 0=train stop)
    ・Distance (1.2, 34.5, 678.9, and so on)
  • In Down Train or Up Train view, following 7 attributes can input. Tap a cell itself, you can see timetable view(fig.4) and input time data. Tap disclosure button on a cell, you can input following 6 attributes other than time data.
    ・Time Data
    ・Train ID
    ・Visible (yes or no)
    ・Classification (displayed with Short Name, select one)
    ・Nickname (optional)
    ・Number (optional)
    ・Note (optional)
  • Tap "Info" cell to go to info view.
  • In home view, tap "View Diagram" cell to go to diagram view.

Format for Arrival and Departure time

Following are rules for inputting time data in Arrival and Departure fields. If data are wrongly input, diagram will not be shown correctly.

  • If no data available, both fields must leave empty.
  • Time must be put by 24 hour system. From 0:00 to 9:59, put with 3 digits format. ex. 1:23 => 123 (no need 0123), from 10:00, to 23:59 put with 4 digits format. ex 12:34 => 1234. It is not necessary to put ':' to separate hour and minute.
  • If assumed time available, put '?' after time data. ex 1234?
  • In case of train passes through the station, if time is not available, put '-' at Departure field, else put '-' at Arrival field and put time (or assumed time) at Departure field.

Diagram view

You will reach Diagram view after tapping at the cell "View Diagram" in Home view (fig.4e).

  • Tap "Pref" or "Next" button on navigation bar and shift time by one hour. The same thing will take place, if you swipe the view itself from the left to right or the right to left.
  • Tap "Train ID" button on navigation bar and show/hide trainIDs on the view.
  • Tap "Scale" button on navigation bar and flip 2 minutes or 5 minutes scale duagrams on the view. The same action can be realized by double tapping on the view. (see fig.6 and fig .7)
  • User can rotate device to right or left, when yubiDia shows diagram view(see fig.8). Diagram will be desplayed with x1.5 scale in the view.

Settings for Diagram

You will reach Diagram settings view (fig.8) after tapping at the cell "Settings" in Home view (fig.4).

  • In "Train Direction", you can select either "Up/Down", "Down Only", or "Up Only".
  • In "Station Order", you can select either "Normal" or "Reverse".
  • In "Station Name", you can select either "Show all", "Without Stops", or "Major Stations Only". This function will be useful when simplified station list is required in diagram view.
  • And when "Zoom" function enabled, diagram view can be pinched out to zoom up to x2.0. And when moved to another diagram view by tapped on "Prev", "Next" or "Scale" button, zoom will be reset.


  • When you upload a data file, which will be expected to be downloaded by MacOSX, it would be good the file name is composed only by ascii letter.
  • In the Root view, and Download view, only SQL type files are displayed in the table.
  • If you happen to share files whose file type is not SQL with iTunes, "yubiDia" will delete them without any alart, when it is launched.
